Taking even a moment of "The Middleman" seriously would be a mistake. And why would you want to? (17.06.08 TVGuide) |
Kevin Sorbo played a Middleman
from 1969, who's been cryogenically frozen for 40 years.

"Guy Goddard" - made up of the names of the two manliest men in sixties television: Guy Williams and Mark Goddard of "Lost in Space". (Javier Grillo-Marxuach, creator of "The Middleman" on the Middleblog) |
Javier Grillo-Marxuach,
creator of "The Middleman": Tracey Stern, who wrote the episode,
had the idea there should be a vault of Middlemen from past eras. <...>
I really wanted to do something where we're really touching on those
touchstones of 1960s spies, like "The Man from UNCLE," "Secret
Agent Man" or "Avengers," to really say this is a show
that takes all the stuff from 60s spy-fi, let's just do it and say we're
there, and rather than take our characters back in time, we brought
someone from that era forward, to serve as a contrast to Matt (Keeslar)'s
character. (11.08.08 NJ.com)
